Dadadodo

Since releasing gNiall to the world I have found out about a similar program, Dadadodo, by Jamie Zawinski. If you found Niall amusing, then I recommend that you have a look at this too. The main differences are:

  • Dadadodo has a more sophisticated way of dealing with connections than gNiall.
  • Dadadodo processes batches of text, whereas gNiall is interactive. You can feed Dadadodo with your mail folder or any big heap of text, and it will build a dictionary. (This was something I wanted to do with gNiall, but never did. Let it consume someone's PhD thesis, or an electronic bible, and then see what it comes out with!).

NICOLE

Phil Howlett is writing a more sophisticated program, NICOLE (Non-Intelligent Computer Operated Language Examiner), which links not only the previous word but the next word as well. For more details, see his web page.
